Obsidian MCP

Obsidian MCP gives MCP clients read and search access to any directory of Markdown notes, most commonly an Obsidian vault. It exposes a read-only toolkit covering vault metadata (tags, backlinks, frontmatter), filenames, and full-text content search. Read-only is a deliberate design choice — your notes cannot be silently rewritten by an agent.

Requirements: Node.js v18+. Built from source and run locally; configuration requires the absolute path to the built server and to the vault directory.
